. . . . This interview offer to all Iranian Black
Metal fans.
 Misty-Graveyard
: Hails to RH and Morbid. To begin with, please tell us about your
activities in different bands such as Deep-Pression. (RH & Morbid)
Morbid : Well I must start that that normally I don't like to do
these type of things...but I guess for an underground zine it
wouldn't hurt....first off I will say that I never mention
activities that happen in any projects that I am involved
with...that's just how I am.....I don't know if RH- has a different
opinion on it but...we work silently...
RH-: first of all I'm leader of Deep-pression. for a 2nd I'm member
of depressive rock band called COLD FLOOR TO EMBRACE (project of MvK),
I write lyrics for it , the name is imagined by me and i made all
the visualisations. 3rd project imp in is TRANSITUS MORTALIS
(project of Heirdrain) where I do exacly the same as in Cold Floor
but in a way of black metal. Last project im in is split up and it
was called INNERLESS SKIN ON A WATER (my dead project), depressive
minimalistic electronics with concept of sea, mists, water...and
finally i have some ideas with Grav of Transitus Mortalis to make
something in style of Tom Waits mixed with black metal ideas and
some shitty drunken music...the name of it is TOMB N ROSES but we
just have 2 rehearsals nothing else, and no stuff recorded yet... in
plans we have with Morbid and other musician another project but
it’s just conception...not specified yet...for sure black metal...
Misty-Graveyard : You are known as picture
designer and lyrics writer in Deep-Pression band. Do you have any
other activity in this band? And as a person who works in
Deep-Pression, how do you see the band? (RH)
RH- : Yes I make ambience too after Trist left DP and some
vocals...Morbid wants me to do more vocals but I'm not sure of it at
all. How I see the band? I don't see DP as a band. It’s project. Not
side project or something but pure project. We live in other
countries, far away, we never met in real life, we drink beer to the
screen sometimes only! So it’s just project with changing squad.
Nothing is sure in DP but me...
Misty-Graveyard : I’d like to talk a bit
about composing music. Morbid as guitarist, Hetre as vocalist and
guitarist, and M.v.K as bass player. Is there any other person who
participates directly in making music? Will Trist start his activity
in Deep-Pression again? (Morbid )
Morbid : I will not give out any information that is not even been
decided yet....ask RH-...
RH- : it wasn't question to me but Morbid wants me to answer. No
problem. First of all i hope that Trist will join us on 3rd album in
2008, nothing is certain but I talk with Trist about his return to
DP. I participate in music but in different way ‘cos the final
decision is mine. Morbid often does things as I haven't imagined but
sometimes he does such things like “deep journey down” and then I'm
in shock – “the guy understood lyric even more than me!!”. MvK
hasn't played in Deep-pression at all by now but I hope it will
change in 2008. Hetre is no more member of DP but maybe one day we
will cross our ways again. I hope so. he's great man. We have 2
guests also for intros. Vrangsinn on “deep journey” and Mura Hachigu,
unreleased track yet. My friend wrote one lyric as well for DP, but
it’s not used yet. That’s all I think...
Misty-Graveyard : In my opinion Deep-Pression
is one of the greatest bands. Please tell us about your music
structure. Each band members are from different countries. In this
case, please explain how you record and release your music. (
Morbid)
Morbid : We record our parts in DP and we send them to each other
and mix it in...pretty simple..
Misty-Graveyard :
How does choosing or making the albums cover pictures relate to
specific aspects? Are pictures based on
album’s structure or it’s just your personal thoughts? (RH)
RH- : it depends. Each album is different and the same is
with my ideas. When I have music, good title and some ideas of
leader I can do something like mirage. Such covers are the best.
When we connect each other with members of bands in one strong idea.
Like the ones I did for LIK, TRIST, UNDERJORDISKA, CONTAGIION or
HAPPY DAYS. Sometimes i have requests for letting using a cover that
is on my site. Sometimes I agree. It was when I did cover for
BLUTVIAL from England...and finally sometimes my works are stolen...
hehe it’s the worst cooperation for me. But I caught all thieves by
now (3 they were heh)
Misty-Graveyard : Tell us about your own
influences and beliefs. (RH & Morbid )
Morbid : You must really get to know me for me to even speak my mind
about things....and so far only RH- is the only man who
knows......not to be offensive to anyone but I see no point in
saying words that fall on Def ears...
RH- : my influences: nature- the place I live full of woods and
Baltic sea, strong winds (I hate them) and sad poor people...vast
areas of misanthropy believe me... what else: dark aspects of
living, self-destruction, dualism of a mind, hatred and love and
feelings generally, dark visions about endless trips to the end of
the world and beyond, dreams... nihilism... I'm very weak in my
believes but I believe that I wont give a fuck!
Misty-Graveyard : In your opinion, what is an
artist’s mission? (RH & Morbid )
Morbid : There is no mission....just someone who plays music from
his fucking heart...
RH- : I agree, no mission, I don't want people to cut their hands
after listening to DP. I want them to think twice or more about some
dark aspects, I want them to feel loneliness and pain that comes
from DP but I'm not here to tell the others what to do. I'm just
glad when someone interesting respects what we do.
Misty-Graveyard : In your lyrics,
there is an obvious aim which
regards to failure and falling. Is it
based on depression and vanity or it’s
inspired by a new theorem? Is it
true that you
mention deep tranquility,
calmness, and serenity in your lyrics?
(RH)
RH-: well there is no aim actually in my lyrics. They are aimless
and this is what makes them a vortex. They are just chaos spelled in
poetry and disillusion. Im not inspired by any new theories. I think
all is quite old. Elder then me... yes deep tranquility, calmness
and serenity is what I'm looking for finding
mostly restless feelings... if my lyrics
are about them? I don't know...maybe a bit
sometimes...
Misty-Graveyard : In our previous interview,
it was said that Deep-Pression does not have any official sponsor or
label. Will you continue this way for your future works? Did Deep
Journey Down release with the same situation? (RH)
RH- : Deep-pression has actually 2 labels: Insikt Prod in Sweden and
Misanthropia VII:XIV in Portugal. But mostly we put our tracks on
myspace for free listening... one day all will be released. By now
they are 100 copies of tape “i walk the life in depression”...
situation is changing all the time... we have plans with releasing
DP in us, or i have such plans. But at the beginning it will be cdr
...and im not sure yet...i wish cd or vinyl You know...
Misty-Graveyard :
In August 2007, an album named as 0RH was
released. I’d like you to explain about this album. It says that the
album was a duet between 0RH and Morbid. The lyrics were all about
an old despair, pain, and the blood’s deliverance from veins.
Explain the influences, and at the end, what are your thoughts
behind the name 0RH? (RH)
RH- : first of all it’s single. Actually 2nd single. Short track
mostly screamed. All music and vocals on it are made by Morbid. Idea
, lyrics and artwork are mine. Lyrics are about the curse that runs
the blood Type 0 negative (0Rh-). Only small % of people of the
world has this type of blood and some stories says very strange and
horrible things... it’s long theme to talk about. But people with
0Rh- are different... they seek for something that they don't
know... usually they have emotional problems , suicidal attempts and
dream of distances, coldness, emptiness... I think I could write 2
albums about this type of blood but one short
and totally painful bm track is
perfect also. Such kind of blood
runs my veins so I'm interested
in it even more... find some informations
in web... it’s really mystery thing. And
the most interesting are biological
aspects of blood 0Rh- ...
Misty-Graveyard :
What are your favorite bands, including
Persian bands, and in general what is your idea about Persian Black
Metal. What do you think about your fans who live in Persia? (RH &
Morbid)
Morbid : Well I never even knew that there were fans of DP in
Persia...and to them my greatest thanks....yes I have a few bands
that I listen to occasionally here and than...but i will not mention
them for the sake of keeping the underground underground......
RH- : well it will be long list haha: Trist, Happy Days, Shining,
Darkthrone, Gallhammer, The Cure, Fields of the nephilim, Nuit
Noire, Woods of infinity, LIK, Code, Forgotten Tomb, Avinar,
Heirdrain, Burzum, Dissection, A waste of talent, hatepulse,
carpathian forest, zyklon-b, destroyer 666, katharsis, Aras,
MonumentuM, Cultus sanguine, lifelover, Shab, Ved buens ende,
fleurety, hypothermia, life neglected, kyla, Nattefrost, Secht,
Krohm , black funeral, Armagedda and many many more.
And what about fans in Persia. What can i say. This is very very old
historical place and when people from Persia likes our music it
means we are pretty special... im glad that my words are spread over
misanthropic great vast areas of Persia. My respect!
Misty-Graveyard :
At the end, tell us about your future
activities and also Deep-Pression upcoming album(s). (Morbid & RH)
Morbid : Like I said....We work silently.....
RH- : my future activities will be some artworks for bands... i hope
that 2008 will be as good as 2007 about the covers. Maybe I will
make covers for new albums of Forgotten Tomb and Black Funeral... we
shall see... Deep-Pression will record 3rd album in 2008 and at the
beginning of the year we have in plans making 5th single called
“mornings are hell”, lyric is written almost...we have no title for
3rd album. First idea was to call it “love cant save the dead” but i
wont use it and my ideas have changed a lot...
